Growing old
Hand in hand striding down the meadow
Smiles flashing
And souls so free,
From a toothless child
Roaming the house
Shouting his lungs out
For attention,
Crying for no apparent reason
To a student leader youth ,
A youth whose vision has become
Enveloping her fellow peers in a world
Free of prejudice
A youth whose words are now
An inspiration to many
To a 65 year old grandmother
Whose wisdom time has reshaperned .
A grandmother whose eyes yearn for the laughter of her
Grandchildren
A grandfather whose smile's driven by
His long lost childhood memories,
A grandmother whose tears are those of the joys
Of living to grow older with her lover
To a grandfather whose hands always
Yearn for that entwinement that he doesn't
Wanna run away from ,
Watching steethily as their grandchildren
Play their eyes glimmer with love. and
Their hearts with joy
As their minds wonder to the days
Of their own childhood and those
Of their children
Hearts rejoice as they in their silence
Thank the Lord
For the long life that
Led them to watch their grandchildren grow
And their love for each other strengthen
